I was given a 94 as a birthday present just after WW 2 , it's the only gun I manage to save after a house fire in 1950, I finaly had it reblued when I had a 300 win done on an enfield . I think some of the parts on the orignal must have been prewar stock because replacement parts were just a little different. They just don't seem to get old, my oldest has a bid in on it, I have instructions that I can't get rid of it cause he want it Have a nice day Don K

I received mine in the late sixties just before I was old enough to start using it for deer hunting. My youngest son killed his first deer with it and it now lives at his house. I wish I had another old one but I guess I will be content with my Marlin 41 mag.

I've been fussing/wiping this rifle down for so long - it really has something about it. Can't walk by it without picking it up . . .

In my misc. (junk) drawer I found an older Lyman sight that had the stamped metal windage and elevation plates. They swapped out just fine – looks better. Can’t help myself ----

Can’t help myself ---- ***** Somewhere along the line, your old Winchester ’94 was drilled & tapped for a side mount scope. Among irons, your Lyman peep certainly improves visibility & accuracy of iron sighting in the deer woods. The old Lyman and Redfield apertures were widely used, and keep that old Winchester in the chase today. Quote me against the grain, but I love John Browning's old 1894 Winchester .30-30 for its handling, its cartridge, its nuts reliability and of course its beauty. David Bradshaw

My 94 is a SRC from 1899. I need to shoot it more, it is in very good shape and the bore is excellent !,,,

After cataract surgery - the scope came off and the Lyman went back on. Bud (original owner) carried a M1 Carbine in Korea, boot camp with the Garand.
