Its time for some new hunting bibs and maybe a new coat. For the most part I prefer wool. I surfed the net today and found a couple options. I was wondering what you guys use and suggest. I dont stalk hunt for deer, so sitting in a blind of tree stand I get cold kinda easy since Im sitting still. What are your suggestions? I live in North Alabama, its not terribly cold here but we are high humidity and breezy at times. So any wind chills get a little rough here.

Good layers, synthetics and wool. Wet cotton kills.

Oh yes, I keep cotton to a minimum.

I have Filson wool clothing. I don't wear it hunting because we get way too much rain in October/November. The last couple years I have switched to wearing gear made by Wiggy's in Boulder Colorado. Stays warm when it gets wet, and the Duck's back material is pretty water resistant without the issues with goretex. I like it and works for me on the Olympic Peninsula. If you're set on wool, Filson is tough to beat in my opinion.

I like Scheel’s branded wool bibs and parkas. Pretty good stuff for the money. I bought some a couple years ago on end of the year clearance.

The wife bought me a blue and black Folsom jacket for Christmas after I mentioned the one I had years ago got stolen. I really like their costs for hunting. I can basically leave the daypack and just use the back pocket across the lower back.

It’s really expensive stuff, but Sitka gear is extremely light weight, waterproof, and warms way beyond what you would think. More money than wool, but great for moving in.i wore it on every trip in Alaska.

I got a really nice wool cruiser from Johnson Woolen Mills. A bit less than a Filson, but more than Woolrich. I like it, but don't hunt in it, more of a cold weather range coat for me.

There's an old thread about this somewhere with a LOT of websites attached to it. Led me down a rabbit hole

I use Codet, made in Canada, wool bibs and coat. They have served me very well bear hunting on Russia's bitter cold Kamchatka Peninsula, and on Nebraska's freezing wind driven sandhills, as well as snowmobilling and tree stand sitting.

Right now Im leaning towards Asbell Wool Hello. I ordered an Asbell Wool Pullover. I got a refund due to not being in stock. From what I understand on the bushcrafting sites this is a mom and pop operation and it takes a while to get your item. Also I did meet someone who wore one at an archery shoot. It is not windproof. It seems to be of a loose weave.
