I have the standard 336 in 35 Remington. I dont use it much in the woods but I sure enjoy casting and shooting it. I cast a long flat nose 230gr at around 2050fps.

Agree with all. The 35 is hard to beat. Levers are just plain fun to hold and shoot. I was lucky to latch on this one when they first came out before we realized how rare they would be....even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while...

My dad hunted with a 760 in 35 Remington until he bought the first model 700 yo hit this part of the state. His was a low four figure serial number 7 mag which have given yo my oldest son just like my dad gave it to me.

I've always wanted a Model 14 in .35 Remington.
Would have been the predecessor to Robb's Dad's gun.

101...I think the only Marlin in .308 Marlin was the stainless Long Range (I think it was called). Had a laminated stock and 24" barrel.

Jeffer, that’s a really nice rifle. I found a stainless 35 XLR last year and bought it with the intention of cutting the barrel to make it a “guide gun” like yours. Due to it’s accuracy and rarity I’ve left it as is with the 24” barrel. There weren’t many of the JM marked XLR’s in 35 Remington.
I have a Winchester BB 356 and like Lee mentioned there’s no need for both. My 35 nearly matches the 356 velocity with my handloads and is decidedly easier on the shoulder.

The stainless 35 is one big hole in my collection I just can't seem to get filled. My standard 336 has been bang flopping deer and pigs for a long time now. Great cartridge for the woods and swamps of the South.

I avg. 1.5 in at 100 yards with this rifle which is just perfect in my book. My only problem....I'm a pretty die hard handgunner...
