I was just looking at the fusion firearms web sight And in the freedom series reaction section for 179.00 extra they will build you a 1911 in .357 sig ! Now i am no gunsmith or even close , but it seems pretty clear all you would need is a barrel a magazine and probably a different recoil spring to make a 10mm convertible, And a 40 S&W too, i would not want the 40 but some would, The .357 sig, in a 5 inch 1911 would be a ton of fun, and extremely effective , it would Make the 38 super, seem slow ! Man i am tempted ! It probably works great with 40 Smith mags ! I am thinking of calling Bob, and asking what his backlog time is...tj3006

From what I gather, .357 SIG single stacks can be fussy.
While I have not personally owned any Fusion guns and try not to pee in anyone's cheerio's, two friends have and had a good deal of heart ache.

Have never owned a Fusion made gun but have bought several of their barrels for my 1911 projects... They have great barrels and the owner is a REALLY nice guy to deal with. I ended up not doing a project and he took the barrel back in trade for another barrel after 18 months...
Just bought my first .357 SIG 1911 a few months ago....a SIG Nightmare Carry. It is a Bobtail Combat Commander size gun. Except for a VERY unsatisfactory 6 pound plus trigger pull the gun shoots great. Had a local smith do a trigger job and install a SIG made .38 Super barrel which I left 5" instead of having it cut and crowned to match the slide. Fusion has 10mm and .40 S&W barrels and will probably add them to the gun next summer.
Out of a 5" barrel most .357 SIG factory loads will be well up into the 1400s and some 1500s with 125 grain bullets.
One can turn most any 1911 10mm into a .357 SIG but would make sure to use one with a ramped barrel for more reliable feeding.

I have a Fusion Commander in 38 super, I like it well. It required a extractor adjustment early and has run just fine since then...tj

Before putting down any money on a Fusion pistol, I recommend doing more research. Over on the 1911 Addicts Forum, there are several stories about sourcing both parts and guns from Fusion. I am planning to either build or buy a semi-custom 1911 as a retirement present to myself, and I have been doing research for several months. Let me just say that Fusion is not on my short list for either pistols or slides and frames.
