Well, every salesman has a line... LOL! My purchases already have new homes waiting. They are my kids.

I had one in 44 Magnum for a while. I liked the big grip frame since it didn't whack my knuckle.

...well...it is no longer "unfired"...
Shot it yesterday and the first thing noticed is that the adjustable front sight was in it's lowest position...and the bullets were going right over the target at 20 yards. Loosened the front screw and put the sight blade half way up and still shot too high. Moved the sight so that there was just enough of the side of the blade to be clamped by the screw and it is now 4" over POA...a new front sight blade is going to have to be fabricated...
Today while shooting it the sight blade locking screw loosened and the blade started flopping around. That ends shooting the gun till a blade can be obtained... Unfortunately this is not a good design.
Other than that the gun is excellent. Great groups with several weights, styles and velocity ranges of ammunition. Trigger pull is a nice crisp 2+- pounds. The LONG grips rolls nicely with heavier loads but like any SA if the grip pressure isn't the same each time one gets vertical stringing. The firmer the grip pressure the less the stringing was.
Overall very pleased with the purchase. Once the front sight is sorted out I think it will make a fine long range shooter....

Congratulations Bob!
That is a beautiful single action revolver and I am happy for you that you were able to test it before your medical procedure.
Thank you for sharing the photos and story with us.
It is a gem of a revolver and caliber in excess of 50 years old too!
Enjoy,

...and thank you jd...
Looked at the front sight arrangement again last night under magnification. While a nice/innovative idea I don't think it would hold zero for any length to time. The blade pivots on a pin and is held in place when elevated by a set screws. The set screw is a very small slotted head type. The side of the blade would need to be dimpled for the screw tip to not eventually slide during recoil.
That said, I don't think that making some blades of the correct height will be much of a problem for a good gunsmith. Once I figure out how tall the blades need to be I may send it off to be done right...

I agree and would definitely send it off to be done right. I can tinker with most other parts, but I want the sights done right. Keep on rollin partner!

Very nice high quality SAA. Your lucky as they don't seem to come up for sale very often.
