Recoil was mild. 1” at 25 1-1/2” is so at 50. 1-1/2” high 1-1/2” at 70 dead on. 2” or less at 100. 3-1/2” lowI wonder why I waited so long!! Hopefully I’ll stumble into a nice buck next week. Thanks Jim ***** Jim.... good dope. Specific dial-in as a coordination of marksmanship. David Bradshaw

Thanks Mr Bradshaw. I didn’t connect on a buck last week but had a great time. I’m going to get out my chronograph soon and check it out. Jim

Thanks Jim I recently bought a 22” Ruger No.1 in 475 Linebaugh. I was able to sit down with it today with some of my cast bullets. I ran a MP 477-640 HP (390gr) with HS-6 ranging from 14-15.5gr. All were sized to .476”-.4765” and lubed with “Simple Lube” recipe. At 50yds, 15.0gr of HS-6, Fed 155 primer the velocity was 1300fps (5 shots), had three holes touching. I think I pulled one, and had one flyer. Kinda strange, all shots felt the same, it was breezy. I hope get out with it again soon and try some more. I am pleased to say, after 30-35rds fired there is no leading in the barrel. All these bullets are plain base! I cast a heavy LFN at 430gr, plan is to push that with a hefty dose of H110 and see what it will do.

Thanks for the info on velocity. I ran a oiled doubled tight patch on a 45 cal jag through mine the other day and got a little lead on it in the form of minute flakes.
I reversed same patch and got no flakes. Before I did that the muzzle looked pretty decent. It could be that .476” diameter would be better as reducing gas blow by.
I think I’m going to try some testing with same bullet and load and not clean and check for accuracy over more shots.
I’ve really never been concerned about a little leading in guns as long as they shot fairly well.
I picked up a 500 Linebaugh that looked like the bore was corroded inside. It was just massive amounts of lead in bore.
In all my shooting I’ve not seen that kind in my guns .
Thanks Jim
