Not necessarily disappointed, but I have tried three times and I just cannot get into Ruger single action revolvers.
The whole base pin plunger spring thing that pushes on the transfer bar just rubs me wrong, despite many thousands of customers being satisfied.

My Ruger Blackhawk Bisley 45 Colt/ACP convertible was a huge disappointment when I picked it up from the FFL due to a forcing cone that appears to be bored off-axis
Still havent done a lick of work to it, after some load development and work with the shooter, it has become my favorite handgun from an accuracy and "shootability" standpoint
On the other hand my 5.5" Bisley flattop 44 special appears to be a well dimensioned gun (other than slightly rough chambers that im not worried about), can't shoot it near as well offhand or at the 50 yard target.

An H&K USP 40. It was the same model issued to the FFDO pilots and as an airline pilot I got it straight from HK for like $400. That trigger was so bad I never could shoot it well. There were like 8 variants of that trigger and I don’t remember which one it was. I do remember my 9lb trigger scale topped out at every pull.

ALL of them. For some reason... i don't know if it is defective materials or what... but for some reason, i've noticed their sights have gotten fuzzier, they've gotten heavier, and it's harder to hit something with them now than it was 30 years ago.
Some nephews claim it isn't so; but i figure that is just their inexperience showing. They'll likely notice the same thing in another 40 years.

More seriously...
A new Ruger m77v in .22-250 with a Leupold 6x20 scope that i nor anyone else who tried could get to group better than 3" at 100 yds trying a varirty of ammo. Gunsmith worked on the bedding and it started shooting legit 1/2" groups at 100 yds with factory ammo. Became and still is a favorite.
A used Rem 700 bdl in .17 rem had a sweet trigger and shot legit 1/2" groups with factory ammo. Had a disconcerting habit of occasionally firing when closing the bolt though. Gunsmith fixed it and still a favorite.
A preban colt ar15 bought used. Couldn't get it to group well and just didn't like it. Still have but loaned it to relative who was on swat team as his backup years ago and haven't seen since. Could always get it back but better utilized by him.
A cheap Fie .22 revolver. Wanted a Ruger single six. Couldnt justify cost. Bought the Fie. Shaved / spit lead with every shot. Couldnt hit worth a darn with it. Practiced twirling (not twerking) with it. Dropped it a lot; but didn't care. Wore bluing off trigger / hammer / etc from so much practice. Still have. Still useless for shooting.

I had a 6" 45 Colt Anaconda in the mid 90's... Without a doubt the single most inaccurate revolver I've ever owned. I never measured the chamber mouths, but a .459 45-70 bullet would easily drop right through.

An Argentine 1911 .45 auto. Wouldn't even feed ball ammo.
Taurus M66 .357 magnum... it was scary accurate but shot loose in about a year.
Taurus 85 in 38 Spl. Trigger felt like it was packed with sand and grease.
Ruger GP100 3" in 44 Spl. Great gun, loved the trigger and looks... but when I found out about cracked forcing cone issues I sold it.
Ruger Redhawk 5.5" in 45 Colt. Would not shoot straight at all. Five to seven inch groups with jacketed ammo at 15 yards? No, thank you.
S&W 632 in 327 Federal. Spitting lead and an overly light SA trigger. Sent it to Smith for repair and then sold it because the trigger was still wrong.

dougader.... wouldn’t mind a look at this revolver. “Accuracy” that frightful makes me reluctant to speculate. Suspect it may be a combination of horrors. It would be informative to look at the gun and recover a fired bullet.
Now looking at a target fired with my Colt 1911 Delta Elite 10mm Auto: Five rounds of .357 SIG----rim held by extractor, inertia firing pin virtually insures ignition----print just under 6.5” @ 7 yards. Three keyholes, two yaws. I’d have to look up notes to identify factory load. None of these 5 bullets recovered. Did stop another shot in 3/4” fir; bullet stuck in board.

It was so bad I didn't even feel guilty trading it in on a Glock 30 in 45 auto...

A Kimber 84 Montana in .260 and a Kimber 8400 in .338 mag. Neither of which I could get to shoot, no matter what I tried.

Believe it or not, a Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 shotgun.
I should have done my homework on it. The gun was designed to shoot high as they do in Europe. I like a shotgun to shoot to the bead. Needless to say I can't hit crap with it,

My first Colt Python. It was expensive and pretty. That thing was over $200. I could not shoot it for poot. I could shoot my 4" S&W model 19 much better than the 6" Python. I gave it to my son for his second birthday. He still has it. That would be every two year old's dream present.

I've likely owned more Rugers that any other brand so I obviously enjoy them. But with my time using, & the numbers I've had, the odds stack & in turn they have given the bulk of my gun buying disappointments.
Too many stories to list really, a combination of Blackhawks, 77's, a Red Label & 10/22's. But for me GP100's stand out.
My first had chambers & bore that had been cut with a chainsaw. Ruger gladly installed a new cylinder & barrel. My happiness was short lived when I saw a badly canted front sight, & then measured the worst thread choke ever. I was unhappy with the whole thing & didn't bother returning it again. With full disclosure, I got rid of it. GP #2, a gun that was advertised to have been assembled with special attention, hammer & trigger shimmed action tune, etc. a Match Champion in .357. With a .014" cylinder gap that would only worsen when the burrs would be removed from the mouth of each chamber. I let the first customer service rep bulldog me with the fact he couldn't find the actual tolerance, but believed it to be in spec. Later I thought about it, said BS, & called back explaining a bit of my background & the fact I could properly use a feeler gauge, to a different service rep. They did a good job fitting a new cylinder, & thankfully didn't bother the barrel. I now, finally have keeper GP.

1st gen S&W Model 59. Gorgeous gun, well fitted and perfectly functioning provided you never intended to actually hit anything with it. Fifteen yards and I could not hit a 4x8 piece of plywood.
