A couple of times, I bought guns i thought would be great to own, But never liked once i got them. The most surprising one was Model 34 4". I could not shoot it very well at all in double action, And only decently in single. It is the J frame grip. Not good for me. The other one is a SP 101 target in .327 federal. Could not shoot it either. And for the same reason. The Grips would not fit me. I tried 3 sets of them. I stick with my Bisley .327 and my Single 6 convertible and MK 2 for 22 shooting. What have you bought and been Disappointed with ? ...tj

A Glenfield 22, I'd have been better served with a basic bolt rifle to learn on. The Single-Six I bought on my 21st b-day was a 5.5". I or it didn't shoot as well as hoped. I traded into a 6.5" and magic !

A Kimber Target long slide 10mm. Beautiful gun, never had a single issue with it but it just didnt live up to my expectations as far as accuracy. And a CZ 527 in .22 hornet which also was quite inaccurate, only CZ rifle I ever shot that I didnt care for.

SIG Mosquito first edition. Thing wouldn’t feed five rounds without jamming.

THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL, AND "DISAPPONT" CAN BE FOR PERSONAL LIKES AND DISLIKES vs ACCURACY/FUNCTION PROBLEMS WITH THE GUN.
ALTHOUGH I AM NOT A RIFLE GUY, I SUCCUMBED AND BOUGHT A GOOD AR, IT GAVE ME A SOFT ON, DOESN't FIT IN REGULAR GUN CASES, CAN BE FINICKY ABOUT AMMO, HOLDS MORE ROUNDS THAN ARE NECESSARY FOR HUNTING, IS AWKWARD, AND IT IS RARELY SHOT, AND NEVER HAS GOTTEN SHOT OR CARRIED OTHER THAN AT THE RANGE. RATHER THAN MESS WITH THIS AR "THING" I BOUGHT A RUGER AMERICAN RANCH COMPACT BOLT ACTION IN 5.56/223.
MY MOST RECENT DISAPPOINTING HANDGUN ACQUISITION IS A RUGER SP101 IN 327. FRONT SIGHT WAS WAY TOO HIGH, FIXED THAT THANKS TO A GOOD SAMARITAN ON THIS WEB SITE, BUT THE REVOLVER WAS ROUGHER/GRITTIER THAN MOST ANYTHING I CAN RECALL, SENT IT TO CLEMENTS FOR WORK, AND THE GUN IS STILL ROUGH, GRITTY, DIFFICULT EXTRACTION, A BIG, BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!

Two guns that were total disappoints to me. 1. Smith and Wesson 25-2 very inaccurate with many loads, custom gun that went away because it just didn't shoot well after much fiddling with loads and bullet weights and diameters. 2. Ruger GP100 10mm, poor accuracy due to "failure to polish cylinder throats" Loved the concept but not the execution, it has been rehomed. Not too bad. Both were fixable but at 74 I find my time left on this earth is more valuable than fussing with problem firearms.

These disappointed me especially because I so wanted to like them - I'll start with a S&W model 25-2 with bluing that almost looked wet. Like ezekiel38 no accuracy to be found - huge throats.
- Next an Anaconda in 45 Colt with 6" barrel - so handsome. Worse than the 25-2 it had 0.459" throats. If held muzzle down at one's side and shook it would rattle like crazy.
- Something on the cheap: a 3" SS Taurus 431 with a hammer so sloppy on its' pivot that it would progressively chop away at the side plate with each pull of the trigger.
- Finally a Lew Horton 3" 624 with a forcing cone cut so big it would swallow 45 bullets.

My first Colt Python. It was expensive and pretty. That thing was over $200. I could not shoot it for poot. I could shoot my 4" S&W model 19 much better than the 6" Python. I gave it to my son for his second birthday. He still has it.

One of the first stainless Bearcats. The hammer pivot pin bore was not square with the frame. Hammer would strike the right side of the frame. It went back to Ruger twice. They allowed me to exchange it on the second return.

and a third post on : The Ruger SP101 Worst trigger I ever felt. Over 15 lbs in double action and close to 8 in SA. Gritty and dirty. I sent it back to Ruger and CS said it was within specs. I offered to pay for an action job. They said NO, WE told you it was within specs.
Took it to a local gunsmith and got a lighter trigger pull, but was then having every other shot a light strike or failure to fire. Back to the gunsmith and I requested new parts. I got it back and it was back to 12 lbs DA and 6lbs DA. Gunsmith said don't bring it back again. I've got dozens of shooters at 8 lbs DA and under 3 lbs SA.
I've been incredible lucky otherwise. I have mostly S&W; and their CS, after a dozens requests, is still batting 1000. Their action jobs have been almost perfect; no charge. They've called to ask me what I wanted in DA and SA; and they've shown up spot on.

RE THE S&W MODEL 25-2 COMMENTS, I HAVE ONE THAT CAME WITH GOOD THROATS, IT IS AN EXCELLENT SHOOTER. LATER I GOT A COUPLE OF 25-3's, THE COMMEMORATIVE IN 45 COLT WITH THE SHORT 25-2 TYPE CYLINDER, EVEN HAD ONE FITTED WITH A 45 ACP CYLINDER, BUT ALL THESE CYLINDERS HAVE OVERSIZED THROATS. WAS THINKING OF TRYING .455 WEBLEY BULLETS BUT HAVE NOT GOT AROUND TO IT YET, AND MAY NEVER GET TO IT, AS I HAVE PLENTY OF GOOD SHOOTING 45 CALIBER REVOLVERS.
RE THE 45 COLT ANACONDA POST, NOTHING NEW WITH COLT USING GROSSLY OVERSIZED THROATS IN 45 COLT REVOLVERS. BRIAN PEARCE DISCOVERED THIS 45 COLT ANACONDA ISSUE YEARS AGO. IN LOADDATA.COM THEY SHOW LOAD DATA WITH THE FACTORY CYLINDER AND WITH A RECHAMBERED CYLINDER (FROM A 44 MAG). I HAD JRH INSTALL A RECHAMBERED 44 MAG TO 45 COLT CYLINDER ON MY 45 COLT ANACONDA.

the one that disappointed me was the S&W snubby 66 I left in her glove compartment and someone made it their own.

Winchester Coyote in .22-250! Hopeless! Worse part is a I traded a fine BRNO 602 in the less common .300 WIn mag for it. Worse trade I ever made!

Ruger 77/357: single bigget turd/POS/joke of a gun ever made S&W 624: second biggest turd/POS/joke of a gun ever made Charter Bulldog 357 "high-polish": third biggest turd/POS/joke of a gun
Three MAJOR disappointments. Sorriest part is that the Chartet hurt the most, because I wasn't surprised when I lost the Smith or Ruger crap shoot.

It appears we torture ourselves with 45 Colts. It's sad when undersized throats is a good thing isn't it! Maybe I'm just jaded, but I consider a new gun a canvas waiting to be painted. Some of the guns/problems already posted can't be painted.
jeffh's post above had me laughing as I tend to use the phrase POS a lot!
