North Central Idaho, Elk City - Took a nice whitetail this morning with my Freedom Arms 83 .475 LB topped with a 1 MOA RMR. A single 420 grn @1350 fps @ 80 yds ( not 89) double lung. He dropped like a sack of 'taters. White tail Buck Nov 2020 by Brian RENOEdited: For the life of me I cannot figure out how to post pics.

What a fine buck with a handgun. I am envious.
Does the irony of a big whitetail being taken in Elk city strike anyone else funny? Heck my Dad grew up in Idaho and doesn’t remember white tails and they sure seem to be pretty commonly take there these days. Of course they are not the rarity in Colorado the once were either.

Congratulations, I live 75 miles NW of where you shot that nice buck. Whitetails and Mule Deer aplenty in Idaho. Usually Whitetail in the wooded and verdant areas and Mules in the canyons and arid regions.

Very nice buck! I haven't been in the Elk City area for several decades. At this stage of my life I'll probably never see it in but I am blessed to live in Idaho. Unfortunately, the Boise Valley has lost much of the charm it had 50 years ago.
