What a joy, to have such a precision rifle of an earlier era. God Bless and have a great Christmas.

Thank you Zeke
Not a wealthy guy, but I'm a fortunate fellow.

John.... late as the early 70’s I watched men hunt with .30-40 Krags. Now they’ve all joined the Feathered Choir, and their Krags.... who knows? Yours are more beautiful than those I’ve seen and those I’ve shot. Tried, some years back, G.I. bayonets which interchange between 1903 Springfield and M1 Garand on a 7x57mm Remington Rolling Block. Fit perfect. Reckon the blades would snap on a military Krag, too. David Bradshaw

Every man and every boy should get some bayonet practice now and then.

Where do you fellows think would be a good place to list a Krag Sporter for sale - besides gunbroker?
I think it's time to move the first rifle seen in this thread.

Two more good cast bullets are the Lyman 311284 and 311299 (314299) which are very accurate from my Krag.

Here’s my Krag. Never seen this much Birdseye in a stock.

Beautiful stock but is there a reason that the inlet for the bolt handle looks like I did it?

No idea who did the stock. I was given the rifle by a long time friend, now passed, and he got it from the estate of a mutual friend. He knew I liked the rifle and made sure I got it.
The cut out for the bolt is inconsistent with the rest of the stock. The checkering is crisp and perfect and the rest of the inletting is excellent. Never could figure out why the bolt cut out was done so large and out of character for the rest of the rifle.
