Bowen Rough Country rear with a vertical white line, fiber optic front. The white line gives a fast reference for center and helps define the top of the black v notch blade. Bowen's defunct magazine had a great article on sight arrangements, and this is what he felt was the best all-purpose arrangement. It's what works best for me. White outline rear, vertical white line on front. You can get a good sight picture in full and waning light, it's fast, and has many points of reference for your eyes and brain to collate.

I do on a couple guns, one everyday field gun, a FA97 41mag and the other a 7.5” 357max. Even on them ever changing light conditions affect what light intensity I use on the dot.

Trapr At the risk of hi-jacking, may I ask what red dot sight you're using on the .41, and with whose mount? I'm looking at the Trijicon RMR on a FA-made base. Thanks!

Practicality and function outweigh aesthetics, but I still have a bit of a problem with fiber optics on revolvers. Aside from an all-black set up, I incline towards black rears with either a white line, gold bead, or gold bar front. Gold/brass beads have been helpful under dense/dark tree cover and, to me, looks more at home on a sixgun:
Mr. Bradshaw has commented a few times regarding sunlight glare as it relates to point of aim/point of impact that has been very interesting/useful in evaluating my groups.
Great photos, all. Cheers.
Edit: My fighting pistols wear trijicon front and rears
