Was fortunate enough to draw a ND antelope tag this fall. Hunting with another forum member. Had a hard time finding very many animals. We believe a lot moved out due to drought. There were plenty in the area back in June. Just got lucky and was able to get a pretty decent opportunity. Gun was a Blackhawk 45. Ruger Only penta

Nice goat,...my first trip was a doe with my 5.5” Gallagher iron sight gun, best spot and stalk hunt I’ve ever done, truly memorable. Congratulations.

OK this is fantastic to start but you have to give a little more in the way of details. Open country antelope hunting with a iron sighted wheelgun is one of the toughest games there is to play...

Nice mature buck!
Good job...
Where we hunt them there would be NO WAY.
That dirt hill in the background of your photo would be considered a mountain in Eastern NM.

Way cool! Speed goats are not easy to get with a handgun!
Nice NM there,, and I see what appears to be a Fermin front sight, a Super hammer, and a Belt Mtn base pin! Caliber???

Thanks guys. We had a some hills and washouts to work with so that was to our advantage. Spotted him in a very approachable spot and tried to make a play on him. Wind wasn’t perfect but it was going to be close! But on the crawl in we had about 25-30 sharp tail grouse get up and it was too much for him and he moved out. Watched him go over a hill at about 150 or so.
So we regrouped and circled down wind and came from the south. Glassing and moving slow. Dang near blew it when we spotted him standing in a hole about 300 yards behind us. (Us being another forum member and good friend)
Working our way in on him while his head was turned away and crawling the last 15-20 yards I was able to get on my butt with gun between my knees.
112 yards. First shot was a bit high but dropped him. He got back up and moved about 5 yards. Second shot was about perfect broad side. Top of the heart and clipped the back edge of both shoulders. He took two steps and fell over backwards.
