I bought the parts to put a long ejector rod in my 5.5 inch 45 LC, I did it just for cosmetics, I figured i would send it out for some custom work and just have the mounting hole drilled and tapped. I mounted it in the Hole just to see how it looked, tapped it down snug with a Rubber mallet, And discovered the housing is about 1/16th maybe 1/8th of an inch to long. My guess is it is cause the barrel is set a we bit deep. Maybe there is an inexpensive fix for this but i can,t think of one. It is not important enough to put a new barrel on. If there is an easy fix i would do it. If not, that's ok too, as i am working on a deal for a 7.5 inch , i would cot down anyway and i would just use the housing on that project. ...tj

Well I just ran into this myself on my own build Pics would really help people understand But what must be done Material off the other end of the ejector rod housing where it goes into the frame must be removed for the Ejector Rod Housing to fit correctly This is common when you decide to change things You will see there is a small lip and that must stay... It will require someone with the skills to carefully remove material and handfit it to your gun If you need any help Just let me know If you are mechanically inclined and have steady hands It is something that can be done God Bless,John Stay safe out there

I have a special jig for the lathe that will make short work out a that for you. Send me a pic. it sounds like it just needs a tickle at the frame end. Would be my pleasure. would take 3 minutes. R
