This am, starts the archery season. My friend and his young son are hunting elsewhere than their home property. Actually he is hunting my ole 'hood, and only a few miles from where RugerGuy lives. If you play over to the RugerForum site, you'll know him. It is also important that they fill some tags fast, freezer meat. They usually do that to home. His young son, one of the youngest to pass Ohio's Hunter Safety and the proficiency test required to hunt the urban zones, got his 1st deer last year, a doe. That boy has been watching that buck grow antlers all summer... Truly, my friends boy is making the sacrifice here !

And we hope to hear good news today. That young boy passing a chance to hunt that buck, to allow another boy a chance,, says VOLUMES about his character. Now,, if you can keep rugerguy, (Dan) away,, as he would make too much noise,,,, !

I always get a little warm feeling from reading about the generosity of the members here.
If the young boy is anything like the rest of us, just getting to the field is going to be a great rush. Here's hoping he got his cake and gets to eat it too.
My son joined the Navy at 37 years old and is now in the Reserves. He also now works with the Wounded Warrior project and takes a few out shooting on occasion. I've always admired him for the patriot and patron that he is.
Doing good is a reward for the Do'er as well as the receiver.
Prescut and Contender sang right on key singing about Volumes of character.

Just got a text. Friends son pooped out @9am, and shortly later Dad arrowed a doe. It's being butchered now and they'll be back out this eve.. He sent me a teaser pic of my old aTV, he bought, with blood drippings and a baggie of organ meat on the meat on the front rack. Then cruelly waited an hour for the rest of the story.
