No to the lube. I have seen shavings before but no complete rings. I've mostly seen shavings on new brass so I always thought it was due to a sharp OD on the case mouth. Thanks, dhd. New brass/sharp OD...that's a thought. Also wondered if it's because, after wet tumbling, brass is "squeaky clean" (grabs more). I've tried ArmorAll Wash and Wax liquid in the tumbler but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Probably not attributed to wet tumbling/sonic cleaning. That can create grabby brass, but as long as you size/expand after cleaning it'll iron out any small dings. I usually don't inside/outside chamfer my revolver cases as I depend on the expander to take care of the inside chamfer, bit that's just me. It's possible you're getting a little bit caveman on the die. I backed off of my PCD's a little bit and they will still give a good grip on the bullets.

But in the back of my mind...some say a good crimp's important to insure consistent ignition. Don't have a chronograph but it would be interesting to test tight and "just enough" crimp. Thanks again for your comments. Always interesting to hear how other reloaders operate. P.S. Someday, I'll learn how to respond to a quote...
