Bradshaw, it's for my bisley accusport .41 mag. Pacnor offers a 14" twist (which I would prefer) but then I would have to go to .412 bore vs the .410 bore

Based on bullet availability, 1:16" x .410” groove sounds more versatile. Measure chamber exit holes. 1:14 and 1:16 are both faster than S&W and Ruger used in .41 Mag. Most revolver bullets are more twist-tolerant than groove-tolerant. A long bullet is more twist sensitive and a long bullet of high ballistic coefficient even more so. David Bradshaw

I would love it if they offered 14" twist in .410 bore like freedom arms does, but 1-16" will have to do. Ruger uses 1-20" and IIRC, smith uses 1-18.75"?

Just spoke with Jerry Moran, who thinks S&W rifled the .41 Mag in 1:18-3/4 and 1:20 (1:20 is standard for .44 Mag). Moran ascribes JD Jones----designer of the .300 Whisper, stolen and renamed .300 Blackout----as a major authority on the .41 Magnum. Sierra Manual #5 twist for .41 Mag Revolver* 1-18-3/4----S&W; DWA * 1:20----Ruger * 1:14----Freedom Arms (not from Sierra manual) Auto* 1:18----Magnum Research Desert Eagle Single shot * 1:14----RPM; MOA * 1:18-3/4---- Merrill * 1:20----Thompson/Center David Bradshaw

I have two current loads for it. 210 nosler jacketed HP with h-110, which is scary accurate, and 300 Penn SSK with h-110. The cast load shoots decent, however when I get it back up and running, I will shoot up my supply of those and switch to the Beartooth bullets version of same bullet

If you want to use this gun for hunt, just use good quality electrical tape and stretch it around the end of erh and wrap tightly. it will hold long enough to use quite abit. If installed right it will allow use of ejector

I have just decided to get a new barrel. I have been in contact with PAC nor on a 16" twist premium barrel. I was thinking this before the ERH issue and this just solidified it. I want a longer barrel anyhow. Going to do a 10" barrel. ***** The FORCING CONE is critical to accuracy and it will be hard to beat a lathe-turned, short 11-degree cone. Contrary to much internet blather, the 11-degree cone is ancient manufacturer standard. Whatever you do, don’t try to hand turn the cone. The cone is infinitely more important than the overrated crown. David Bradshaw Very sound advice!!!!
