Ordered a forend and grip for my Super 14 30-30 from Tony’s Forends and Grips. He builds these things to fit your hand from measurements you provide when you order. I gotta say, it is amazing the difference between this set and a factory set.

TonyG does great work. Never ordered a grip, but plenty of forends.
That is some beautiful wood.

I've begun shaping furniture for my personal edification, fit, and function for use on my contender. Each time I try to incorporate another element of interest or design.

The idea was innovative, inspired by a historic muzzleloader, but upon nearing completion the ergonomics need some adjustment as the 'biscuit' cheekweld will required some gradual transition to the rear of the buttstock or facial intrusion may be a result upon recoil. The little carbine suffers from suitable mass to offer much detent to rearward thrust of heavy calibers.

...The little carbine suffers from suitable mass to offer much detent to rearward thrust of heavy calibers. I have a scoped T/C Carbine in .22LR with the nylon stock & forend. I like its nimble qualities. I have shot it off bags while attempting to minimize as much human contact as possible. Surprising how much it moves with just the .22LR.

I have a spare rynite buttstock that I have filled it with lead shot to give it mass. It really helps with the heavy recoiling cartridges, especially off the bench.
