Sorry... late to the party I know... I've shot a lot of accurate 22's... eggs at 200 yards are not safe from my bench, & my customized 10-22 will bust a bunch of them regularly...sorry, not finding a picture since I added a scope, here it is with the installed the heavy hammer forged barrel... this picture from my last Appleseed shoot, when it still had a set of Tech Sights installed... I do have a favorite scope now... I have 2 of them, one currently on my 10-22 & one mounted on my 17 Mach 2 but this has become my hands down favorite rimfire scope... www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/nikon-products/riflescopes/prostaff-rimfire-ii-4-12x40-bdc-150.html

Vudoo, Christensen, Ruger, etc... There is so much new stuff out there. I forgot about my Kimber 82G with a 6x24 B&L... It, like the Remington 40X, Winchester 52, and a few others are from a bygone era. They had a chance when stuff like BR50 was the game. These new ones are usually made for a different kind of customer for different sports that makes weight matter more. The flexible old guys like the old ones AND the new ones too...

I've owned an Anschutz 1710 D bolt action sporter for a long time. At least 10 cases of Eley and Lapua ammo has been run through it. I have a Leopold varix3 6.5x20 efr scope with fine plex ret. mounted and it is capable of sub Minuit of angle accuracy. This combo with excellent ammo will produce one hole groups at 50 meters.....I've had flys land on my target at this distance and smoked them.

Shot a KYL (Know Your Limits) target at 50 yds today. That's fun! My little Contender carbine & 3X9 scope isn't well suited for that, but I made it work. I'll never be competitive in a real match with that set-up. Break action takes too long between shots.

Accurate? Go where the accuracy shooters are shooting and see what is what. Buy once cry once... Anschutz Remembered something this evening. There is an Anschutz in the house. A Woodchucker youth rifle.

A Woodchucker youth rifle. I have one of those too. Made the mistake of getting a CZ Scout and never got around to firing the Woodchucker. I'll have to remedy that soon.
