Then there is Accurate, Fun, and Classic... When weight and size don't matter Winchester 52C from 1957... Balvar 6-24 from 1955 That's a Beauty! Almost bought a Martini falling block 22LR with a Unertl spring mounted scope many years ago. Couldn't justify the purchase at the time. Still kinda wish I had bought it though. Budget? Not sure. Trying to determine that also. Think I read/heard somewhere that the powder charge of a 22LR only needs about 16" of barrel & begins to slow down after that. Not sure if that is correct.

I just put a higher MOA rail on my sons today. We are shooting a match next week to a shade over 2 miles and afterwards, a set of plates are set up with cameras for the 22s our past 800 yards. Should be a fun shoot after the real shoot. If you decide to go Vudoo, let me know. We order them fairly often. Have a integrally suppressed one headed this way soon. 😉

Thanks. I think the Vudoo is well beyond my skill level & wallet thickness. Found this interesting bit on some potential new 22LR ammo: youtu.be/ApP1e_EVbFY

It hasn’t gone very much further for production. They have had trouble finding case components that meet their approval. I have been using SK Long range match. Extremely consistent. I used CenterX prior. The SK LRM seemed more consistent across lots

The only reason I picked RimX over a Vudoo is pre-fit barrels.
Vudoo action must go to in to get a new barrel. RimX barrels can be ordered and spun on at home. I'm ordering a Proof Reseach carbon Fiber wrapped barrel and most likely a 1-12" twist barrel from Patriot Valley Arms(PVA)in PA. Josh at PVA is a friend of mine and has been testing faster twist 22LR barrels and has found the 1-12" barrels to give better accuracy at longer ranges.

Or a used CZ 452. Have one of their Training Rifles and it shoots extremely small groups with the right ammo (mostly subsonic stuff). Are you sure the CZ 455 Varmint rifle has been discontinued? Last on-line catalog I looked at still showed them. This^^^^ I bought myself and each of my boys CZ 452 Trainers in 22 LR. Also have one in .17 HMR which is what I grab when shooting PD's out to 250-300 yds. The little 452 Scout is a great back packing rifle. Lotsa bang for the buck. Saw a 457 with a heavier barrel yesterday, nice and probably a shooter but I think I prefer the 452.

You really cant got wrong with any model CZ, I just picked up a used 452 which brings me up to six. I can believe that. I have an old Brno #1, and the CZ 452's I have are every bit as nice. And all are good shooters. I had the boy's cz 452 scout at the range yesterday with an old Weaver steel tube 2.5x Post reticle scope and the guy next to me couldn't believe I was stacking shots on each other with that rig. My latest was a 452 FS, I let me say, I am soooooooo happy I got it! If the LGS comes down on that 457 price, I may have to pony up.
