I have had one for many years. I use mine with a small arbor press rather than smack it with a hammer. I make extreme bullets for snakes and varmints. It is capable of swaging from mild to wild bullet noses depending on how I adjust the press. It can also be used to swage up 223 or 224 rimfire ammo depending on what your barrel likes. Some cheap bulk ammo turned in some impressive groups after going through the tool. To me, it was well worth the price.

They really open up HP's if that's what you're after, I've also got the punch that makes solids into flat points or slightly dished, they usually alter accuracy a little bit one way or the other. For hunting I use it to make round nosed bullets into SWC, the other use is for some oversized Winchester rounds that had to be forced into the chamber of my 9422. One end of the tool is tighter than the other and reduced those Winchesters enough to cycle without force. That is a nice option to have, but making FP out of RN is its best utility for me. Glad I bought it.

Fantastic little tool, get one while you can, Paco isn’t getting any younger. Mine is a 4 hole, .222”, .223“, .224”, and .225” and has 2 or 3 different punches for nose profile. Haven’t done any real conclusive accuracy testing yet but have noticed big performance on water jugs over standard nose. Also noticed on some cheap bulk ammo that it tightened the bullet in the end of the case, I’m sure there will be accuracy gains, hope to test more this winter.

Are they long enough for .22 magnum ammo?

I like Paco's tool - but I like the one i make better!!!! That's just me though.!
As for the 22 mag question above. Tools like this don't work well on 22 mag or CF ammo. 22 LR is heeled, so there is support when you press in the punch. The 22 Mag and cf rounds tend to just punch the bullet into the case. Not so cool. FWIW

I sent a picture to Greg but it would appear my analysis of using it on mag is incorrect.

I sent a picture to Greg but it would appear my analysis of using it on mag is incorrect. It is not an insurmountable issue, making these work on 22 mag, but I found it so costly it just didn't make sense. Many/most 22 mag are jacketed in some way, so it takes a bit more umph to punch and form the HP. Add to that the lack of heel, and you need either a cartridge with hellacious crimp - which most don't have. OR, some sort of support..For a good many years I have owned some of the collet type tools Bill Eichleberger made up for loading/forming 22 WRM empty cases (left overs from a 17 cal, project predating the 17 HMR by a decade or so!) We could support the bullet in the case holding collet and form the HP pretty successfully. But making a form/accurizing die, punches, and then a collet support system would really start to run the cost up. So we just stayed with the 22LR sets and stayed away from making this sort of thing for the Mag and CF rounds. I think most of the guys who have built these HP tools, dating back to the old Herter tool that did this job, have run into these issues. ALTHOUGH, I am POSITIVE there are much smarter cat skinners than me out there and i probably missed something simple and obvious!

Paco's website being gone may be the end of them. Having just received one of Jacks I'll let you know. It's 90 in the shade here and the humidity is up there. I don't shoot in this.
