Soak a patch with ammonia solvent like shooters choice or sweets. Take another patch and soak it with hydrogen peroxide and push EVER so slowly down the bore. Fiz will come out before the Jag does. There will be think strips of copper from the lands on your patch.

I bagged Sweets and Barnes some time ago in favor of Bore Tech Copper Eliminator, works much faster and no ammonia, seriously its a far superior product with no danger of ammonia.

What is every ones favorite copper cleaner, I have a couple revolvers that seem to get a lot of copper fouling. ***** Ruger sent me a pair of first-run S410N Super Blackhawks----10-1/2” tapered barrel with silver soldered ramp front sight and standard ejector----early in 1979. Scoped one with a Leupold 4x28mm LER scope; the other remained stock. The model earned the handle “Silhouette Super” on the firing line. Rifling lands of the competition gun jacket-fouled heavily. I carefully stroked the bore with J-B Bore Paste on cotton flannel patches, which were wrapped over a jag carved on a 3/8” hardwood dowel. The fouling ceased. Grooves in the broach-rifled barrel miked .428-inch. The gun toured the country and to to know the winner’s circle. Loaned the gun numerous times. As that Silhouette Super shot tight before cleaning with J-B Paste, this is not a testimonial of a bore cleaner turning a mediocre barrel into a shooter. Through basic elimination of copper fouling, it must reduce the chance of a flier after a prolonged period on the Firing Line. Brass polish might accomplish the same goal. David Bradshaw

I have two copper cleaners I like really well. One is KG12 and I cant remeber the other at this moment. Ill check when I get home.
Oops, the other cleaner turned out to be a carbon remover, but its a dandy too! Its made by Bore Tech and its C4 carbon remover.

I like Sweets for chemical reaction, and J-B Bore Cleaner for physical. Depends on circumstances. But These have done me well for 40+ years.

Having shot 600 yard benchrest for years some time back, I was interested in a great bore/copper cleaner. I settled on BoreTech and have and use all of their products and use some SharpShooter stuff too. I've used Sweets and other ammonia based copper cleaners but no longer use them. Those cut rifled barrels rarely fouled copper after break-in but carbon could be a PITA.
If you're seeing heavy fouling (copper or carbon), a good mechanical cleaner may be easier when used with care. I keep a tube of IOSSO and container JB bore compound on hand for this purpose. With the rifles I would punch the bore with the chemicals and follow up with a IOSSO coated patch back and forth and done. I have and use a Hawkeye bore scope and know when the barrels are clean.
If you're seeing lots of copper then I'd attack it with an abrasive as mentioned above. Copper likes to stick to more copper and the more you get it in the barrel the more of a PITA it is to get it out. Once you attack it with the abrasive (carefully) then use the chemicals to stay on it.
When I started shooting revolvers seriously some few years back, I assumed it would be easier than the benchrest rifles. I've read many times where David would state something to the effect of where revolver accuracy is an symphony of variables coming together. He is not wrong and sometimes an issue with these damned things isn't the obvious answer. Jacketed bullet accuracy is easier than cast bullet accuracy to me by far, but I love the chase. Oops, I got sidetracked....
