I bought this today just to get the grip frame, hammer and trigger, etc. Not sure what happened but I wouldn't want to be the guy that was holding it. I guess a double charge of fast powder or a light charge of slow powder. The barrel is clear.

Lots of good parts there. In fact, that gun is mostly good parts. I would imagine if you sell the parts the grip frame will be free.

I need to go on GB and look for one like that so I can get a unusable main frame to bolt grip frames to for fitting.

I will put the SBH hammer on my 4-5/8" Blackhawk 45 Colt (maybe the grip frame too). The barrel was a 7.5" that had been cut down. The rest will make an interesting paper weight.

I guess a double charge of fast powder or a light charge of slow powder. Or someone tried launching a tactical nuke.

The barrel is clear. ***** As potato judge intimates, parts unaffected by detonation should include barrel, lockwork, grip frame, ejector assembly, base pin latch.... Parts destroyed: frame. May include rear sight and, the base pin may be bent. To remove bent base pin, strip lockwork and base pin latch; drive out base pin from rear with drift punch. Otherwise, consider frame with cylinder a a cautionary prop. A triple charge of fast powder or a double charge of medium powder can do this damage. David Bradshaw

That's a fine looking firearm, I'm sure it will buff out nicely. It's an elusive 3 shooter too, I think that costs extra.

Don't worry 'bout those scratches, Cap'n. They'll buff right out!

I bought a destroyed frame in 44 mag (blue) to use as a demo unit in my shooting classes & hunter safety classes. Looks similar to this one. If you decide to part it out & want to part with that frame & cylinder for me to use as a comparison piece to my other one,, let me know.

Probably just pop that top strap straight again and get a new cylinder. No big deal
