My favorite right now is a PC'd Sledgehammer GC with 9.3 AA9 and a Federal 200. I haven't really played with primers much with this load as the 200's shoot so well. I did go to 9.5 but decided to drop a couple tenths for the heck of it.
I've gone to 13 grains of H110 with the above bullet and dropped it to 12 and stayed there. No pressure issues that I could tell at this level.
I do shoot the Accurate 31-126D PC'd and it will also shoot pretty much into a hole with either above powder charges. 6.5 grains of HS6 shoots very well with this bullet too. FWIW, the Accurate mold is one I had Tom make scaling down a 357 mold he has in hiscatalog. Consider it a LFN style with a plain base.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news about your FA97, but it will not be a great revolver if you are an experimenter. Mine has shot just about everything into tiny groups. Yes, some loads shoot slightly better groups, but nothing I've shot would be considered a bad load. I haven't shot mine at less than 50 yards. Mine is a 5.5", action job, black Micarta, fluted cylinder, and wears a Trijicon SRO 1 MOA with the Freedom Arms mount.

dhd: THE MODEL 97 327 I HAVE COMING IS JUST LIKE YOURS EXCEPT IT IS STILL WEARING OPEN SIGHTS.
FOR STARTERS I MAY USE THE FEDERAL 100gr AMMO. THINKING OF SAVING THE CAST BULLETS FOR OTHER 327 AND/OR 32-20 REVOLVERS. CURRENTLY AM WANTING TO SET UP THIS MODEL 97 FOR THE SWIFT A-FRAME 100gr BULLETS @ 1,500 - 1,600 fps, BUT YOU KNOW HOW NEBULOUS AND TEMPORARY "CURRENTLY" CAN BE.

Mine is a 7.5" gun and it wears a Weaver 2x scope on an SSK T'SOB Mount. There can be no finer 32 Caliber Revolver in existence.

I've let my subscription lapse. I'll have to look for it.

I'll need to look for it, too. I have Load Data from their website, but no longer have the Handloader subscription.

Funny, I literally tore those pages out of the Handloader magazine and stapled them together for my file about 3 minutes ago.

Funny, I literally tore those pages out of the Handloader magazine and stapled them together for my file about 3 minutes ago. kings6: I HAVE BEEN ACCUMULATING, IN HARD COPY, ARTICLES AND POSTS ON 327 LOADS, PLUS I HAVE LOADDATA.COM. MAX LOAD WITH 100gr BULLETS AND AAC-9 I HAVE FOUND IS 13.3 GRAINS, MOST TOP OUT AT 13grs. PER TAFFIN, No. 9 SEEMS TO BE THE MOST CONSISTENT/GIVE THE LEAST EXTREME SPREADS, AND AS PER ALL THE LOADING INFO I HAVE RUMAGED THRU, WITH THE 100 GRAINERS, No. 9 APPEARS TO GIVE THE HIGHEST VELOCITIES. WHEN I START MY QUEST FOR A 1,500fps 100gr SWIFT AFRAME LOAD IN MY 5.5 INCH MODEL 97 I AM GOING TO USE No. 9 AND CCI 500 PRIMERS AND, IF I CAN GET ANY, MAYBE SOME SMALL PISTOL MATCH PRIMERS.

I recently picked up the Western Handloading Guide, Edition 1, on a sale I couldn't pass up.
They list their Accurate No. 9 powder with the Hornady 100 grain XTP under 327 Federal Magnum data.
- 5" test barrel; COL: 1.440"; Primer: Win WSP
- Start load: 11.7 grains No. 9 for 1417 fps.
- MAX load: 13.0 grains No. 9 for 1574 fps @ 36,950 psi.
I also have the Hornady 9th Edition Handbook
- 4.2" bbl GP100; COL: 1.450"; Primer: Federal 205
- Start load: 11.3 grains No. 9 for 1250 fps.
- MAX load: 12.7 grains No. 9 for 1450 fps.
