This is my steel target range. There is a swampy ditch then a old railroad grade behind the targets and it's about seven miles past that to the nearest road or houses. "Bucky" the steel deer is on the left and is kind hard to see.

That's a nice setup you got there but, old Bucky should be dead by now. I know we wore him out at Eustace.

Great looking range......I am jealous as my condo association won't let me shoot across the pool area!

That's great! Cant shoot nothing more than my air rifle in my backyard. Use 22 cb longs out of a rifle. I take turns with my son while he mows part of the lawn and then I mow and he shoots. Or we shoot when the pool equipment cycles on. Gas powered yard equipment drowns out any of the subsonic loads. Be inventive. Plus the wife is happy with a well manicured yard. I have a friend who lives next to a freeway and during peak traffic times it would be hard to hear a grenade go off in his yard.

Chad did you make or buy your steel targets? I have been tempted to make some at work but I just have not gotten around to designing a portable rack from scrap. The targets are easy to make, it is a rack that is light enough to move (I shoot on the National Forest 90% of the time) that I have not figured out yet...

fowler most are home made or shop built buy friends. The silly wet targets are easy to get as allot of people make them. Our round plate rack is nothing more than a fancy saw horse. I like swinging targets they, ring, move, and reset with out needing to walk up and stand em up over and over again.

I like. Here's ours: 25 yard pistol to the right, 100 yard straight ahead. Since this picture was taken, we've extended the rifle by another 100 for 200 yard work. -Lee www.singleactions.com

John.....it's located on 250 acres of land my dad owns in the Shenandoah Valley region (right outside of Front Royal, VA). It's about 70 miles from my house so I can't shoot every day. We do have a house on the land however, so I can spend the weekend (which I often do). -Lee www.singleactions.com
