There are several SSK wildcats as well.

Yea, that would be about 1% of them! Ackley Hawk, Gibbs, SSK, are just starting to scratch the wildcatt surface. As mentioned above you must also include all the 308 length and BR length rounds, not to mention the 45 ACP and the auto mag. Of course since the .473 nominal head size predated the 06, it might be fair to say all this fun derived from the Mauser case! Just and example for fun, I have five different reamers for the pretty obscure .234" wildcats on the full length 06 case alone. Same for assorted 35 cal. Offspring of this head size must number MANY thousands.

You know if you really want to play the offspring game you could argue that the 50 BMG, and the 222 Rem and all their progeny are derived of the 06 as well! John Browning essentially scaled up the 06 to half inch dimensions to develop this splendid round, and Remingtons Mike Walker essential scaled the ole 06 down to 222 to get the other famous deuce! Just a thought.

I thought the .270 Win was borne from the .303 British?

I thought the .270 Win was borne from the .303 British? Nope - 06. The 303 is much shorter and rimmed
