A buddy recently bought one, asked me when the last time I shot mine was. I couldn't honestly answer. I have the NOE 314-165GC mold. It is dropping at .315, I am powder coating and gas checking at .316. I have not done any loading past making dummy rounds to make sure they chamber. Anyone done anything with the Enfield and cast? Any tricks specific to it? I have never tried cast with anything with a fast twist. I am hoping for Coke can accuracy at 100 yards and enough energy to take coyote and small hogs. I will probably start with pistol powders since I am not looking to win matches with it.

Back when I had SMLE's I loaded Lyman 314299 200 grain bullets with 13 grains of Unique. It shot quite well, but I never did chronograph it. Very fun load so shoot... SMLE's have rather generous chamber dimensions, so I doubt that you will have a problem...

Enfields are fun in any configuration. Try the bullets you use for the 32 Mag and 327 Mag. They fit well and can be driven hard with accuracy.

I have two Enfields; a 1944 "C" Longbranch and a 1950 (no "C") Longbranch. The 1950 has the Vernier style sight on it so I am thinking of using it for load development. The suggestion of using the 32 caliber pistol bullets is one we have pondered as well. Only real problem I am having now is finding more brass for it. If anyone has any to spare, please let me know. Thank you all.

There are several Lee-Enfield shooters over on the Cast Boolits forum. I bought a couple of NOE molds in appropriate diameters and designs, but never got around to doing anything with my LE rifles. Perhaps, once I return to the States. I only kept a single LE, a 1954 No.4 Mk2 Fazakerly. I do also have a Mosin-Nagant, and an Argentine Mauser that can share the same bullets. My molds will have a chance to be well utilized.

Thanks to all who responded. Just so happens last week a friend of mine I worked with at the Sheriff's Office called and said he wanted to sell his "nice condition" 7.65 Argentine built in Berlin. I looked at the rifle and it is museum grade condition, all matching numbers down to the cleaning rod. I asked how much and was told 350.00. I gave him 400 and we both smiled as we walked away.
