well i want to thank all of you thanks to your suggestions
i kinda stumbled into a simple answer that never occurred to me
and i tried it and it worked
with the problem being the ERH being too far away all i had to do is move the Housing in
how do you do that?
well i took it off and looked at it and thought why not take off some material to allow it to move in
and then thought if you make it fit the hold close to the barrel it will be loose
which is true but i took some of that same spacer material i was using between the barrel and the ERH and slipped a piece inside on the edge that slides in
and here is the results
i need some thicker G10 but i think it looks quite good for a hour of work fitting it
see what u all think
this is why i love this place
stay safe out there
God Bless,John
here is the original ERH
it is the one on the left with glue on it
and here it is before modifying the shape a bit and taking off part of the circle to it ...
this allowed me to move the housing closer to the barrel and no need for shims
expect for one between the housing and the frame
by putting that little shim inside the ERH end that goes into the frame
the housing now is tight and there is almost no gap
i need a slightly thicker one to make it even closer
see what u all think
one thing i noticed when i got it installed was the ERH was slighly pushed down and left this small reveal line
when i went back to Elmer's Gun
it also has this too
so it looks like they had this same issue
one more little thing finished with this
waiting for my brass frame to arrive and then off to be tuned by a dear friend
it has taken me since Easter two years ago to get this far and almost thought it might never be finished
stay safe out there
God Bless,John
here is the finished product
looks much better for sure and what i love almost no cost fix too
