Just remembered a SxS shotgun once... I don't remember the brand, foriegn made, fairly nice. NIB they were $274.00 Wow! I wanted one but was short on cash. (don't think there were any ATM's around back them, I sure didn't have a card) Went back a couple days later to get one and apparently they'd messed up the price tag, they were now all marked $472.00! Which at the time was a lot more than I'd ever paid for a gun. Missed it by that much!

My very first handgun, sadly. Bought it at the Rod & Gun in Heidelberg, while stationed in Germany in the early '90's. Was just a 4" .357 Taurus 689 (I think- vent rib & full lug), but was an amazing shooter. I could nibble out the x-ring at 25yds, offhand. Sadly, Customs lost my paperwork to bring it back to the States with me & had to sell it before I left.

Alternatively, the one that almost was? When I came into a bit of money a couple years ago, I was undecided between picking up a nice Max, or a 6" TALO GP100 & have Mr. Clements do a .41 Special for me. Got the Max & love it, but unfortunately for me, Mr. Clements announced his retirement shortly thereafter.

Many years ago I bought a 38-10mm Buckeye from an online acquaintance. When I went to pick it up, they had a nice Max in the case for somewhere between $450-$550! I still cry over that one, I was flat busted from buying the Buckeye. Why I didn't put it on a credit card I don't remember, today I would in a second. (as the comedian Robert G Lee said, "I used to have a little debt and it bothered me a lot. Now I have a lot of debt and it only bothers me a little.")
