I’m starting to think I just need to get a Redhawk or Mountain Gun and there shouldn’t be a problem.

Awp101,
Hope you find your 25! I had a Colt 1917 in 45 Colt that belonged to my (step) Mom. We used to shoot it a lot, I'd reload for it and it was amazing! When she died, a sleazy family member that lived closer laid claim. Anyway, I always thought that a Smith N fame, would be a suitable substitute. I love my Smith 544 N-Frame .44-40 but a similar 5" .45 Colt would be awesome!

Thanks! I've managed to give myself a guncrank grade case of paralysis by analysis. "I don't want to deal with throat issues so Redhawk or Mountain Gun? But wait, I've got another 1911 to feed and I don't need romp'em stomp'em horsepower so maybe I should be looking at .45 ACP 625s instead? Or maybe a non-Thunder Ranch 22-4 even though the sights are a...challenge for my eyes? I'm just shooting for fun so I can get around the sight issue (or so I keep telling myself). If I'm going to look at a 22-4, why not a non-TRS 21-4 to go with the growing passel of .44 Specials? OTOH if I go for a 629 or 629MG I can still run Specials and find factory Magnum ammo on the shelf more readily than .45 Colt (at least in normal times, not the world has lost it's collective mind times)." I need another hobby to get my mind off this one...
