Has anyone else here converted a Glock 21 to 45 Super?

I think I have some Starline 45 Super brass left, but I sold the gun and 450 SMC ammo some time ago. .

It was an incredible shooter. Shot a few deer with it. I decided to move on the the 460 Rowland.

The 265 grain WFNGC is from Beartooth Bullets. Cast Performance has a similar bullet.

The accurate 45-265J mold is close but non gas checked. He could probably make a GC version if desired.
I’ve been messing with 45 super for 15 years. I started with a Springfield long slide running normal 28-30k psi 45 super loads and have moved up to loading 460 level and even higher loads in acp brass in a g21 using a threaded barrel with good case support and a compensator.
Now185s at 1650fps up to 315g bullets at 1200fps from a 5.3” barrel are possible.
Two other bullets that have worked well in the Glock are the 275g hunters supply and 300g beartooth lfngc bullet.

I load the 265gr Beartooth in my Rowland. Marshall sized some .451" for me. It is awesome from my Rowland. Super accurate.

I load the 265gr Beartooth in my Rowland. Marshall sized some .451" for me. It is awesome from my Rowland. Super accurate. I tried Marshall's 255 RNFP but the fat, long shoulder forced deeper seating than the 265 WFNGC, so I went with that one, too. I'll say it's darn accurate. When I was sending loads over my Chrony I tore a fat hole in the center of the target beyond... and I wasn't really going for tight groups at the time. I pushed that 265 from 900-1177 fps in my G21sf. But then backed down to 1,000+ fps for a carry load when fishing in my self-named Black Bear hole. I use the Starline 45 Super brass.

How would/do 5" 1911s hold up at 265gr/900fps levels?

Would do fine as long as you run a heavy recoil spring. I think my .460 Rowland 1911 has a 26 lb spring and is running 230s probably around 1300 fps

Groo here The best thing about a 45 super is that you "can" shoot it in a 45 acp [moded] or a revolver with out needing a loan for the changes....

Ran a couple thousand through a Springfield 1911 before I sold it. Slide fit was really loose when it went down the road. Bought a lar grizzly in 45 win mag shot it till I broke a couple parts fixed it and sold it. Depending on how much you plan on shooting it that 45 super, 460 Rowland, 45 win mag ect.are great cartridges. However be aware they consume parts if you shoot volume.
