tj3006: I'm still deep in the learning curve with the 10. The cartridge didn't do anything for me until a revolver showed up, an L frame sized revolver. I am infatuated with the idea of a 180-200 grain bullet at 1250 fps from a midsized frame revolver and six shots. I disregarded the 10 for a long time with 173 grain loads in the 357. However, curiousity got the best of me as I wanted something lighter and smaller than an N Frame or Ruger Blackhawk that met the above described ballistics.
So I found the 5" Lipsey's special 5" 10mm for $120.00 cheaper than a Match Champion so I bought it. To date I have found I like the 10mm more than the 357 in the role of a field gun. It recoils like a heavy 38 and it is very accurate. The muzzle blast in the 10 is far less than the 357 and the caliber starts with a 4. I have yet to chrono any loads or to try an 180 200 grain handloads as I am tapped out until the first of the month. I also need to obtain a holster, but it will wait until load development and further exploration of the platform is completed to see if this 10 is a winner and stays or I go back to my old standbys. I've retired the Altamont "Roper grips as they are "squirmy" and require tightening every 25 rounds or so, they've been replaced with a set of Match Champion wood grips from Hogue. So far I am liking this revolver and having no negative experiences with the Ranch Product Moonclips with 10 or 40 S&W. This GP100 is worming it's way into a nook in my gunsafe.

Some time ago CDNN was selling the Match Champion for $600 so I bought one. Nicely made piece. First GP100. I tore it down and Flitz'd the internals shimmed the hammer and trigger (according to Ruger it should have been shimmed from the factory) and it is a great gun. I took it pig hunting in March but never had a pig close enough. I have a 610, a Glock 40 and a Ruger 38WCF/10mm. Here's what a 610 cost back in the day...

Take a 10mm case and jam it with as much accurate #9 as you can and it stops feeling like a warm 38 special. I’m thankful for a 10mm in an N frame at that point.

Have been playing with two bullets more than others, a 155LSWC and a Sierra 165 JHC in the 5". Have gone to a taper crimp die which helped stop the erratic keyholing I was experiencing when attempting to use a standard crimp with a seater die. All RCBS dies and equipment
The LSWCs are now being loaded over 7.2 grains of 231, taper crimped and COAL 1.255" Lyman book says 1300fps we will find out in the next few days. Accuracy first then velocity.
