I have a Model 25-2 in .45 ACP/AR, built in 1962. This revolver had oversized throats of .456 and would not shoot groups small enough for me. So, I sent the gun back to Smith & Wesson and had them replace the cylinder with a new one with .452 throats. This they did and charged me $250, which I gladly paid. The new cylinder is made of stainless steel but this makes the gun unique - I now have a "Pinto" gun. Here is how it shoots - my load is a 180 grain SWC (Shortened H&G 68 style), .452 diameter, over 6.2 grains of Power Pistol and Federal Large Pistol Primers. The group is 10 shots at 50 yards and the group size is 2.7 inches. I shot this over sand bags. If the group was perfectly centered it would have been 100 with 7 or 9 Xes.

GREAT for you....
Had two 25-2s over the years that shot "ok" but did have one load of Unique and a 225 Speer JHP that that was exceptional. Load was in one of the SHOOTING TIMES articles by Bob Milek and was the only one that gave accurate groupings in his gun also...
