A few days back, wife on facebook hears of fuel, gas, issues with Get Go ! gas. This is the fuel sold thru the Giant Eagle grocers stores. She works at one. Reports of vehicles on roadsides, etc.. She earns "points" by shopping, and employee discounts. They are accrued monthly and don't roll over. Told her to get a few fuel additive, dry gas type, injection cleaner type. We know they guy at the auto part store. He laughed and said the problem real, and sold her the last 2, the display ones. Just now she is reading that it is not just Get Go !, something to do with an ooops in the switch over of fuel blend, winter to summer. I vaguely recall hearing of this, know little. What are you folks hearing ?

What are you folks hearing ? ***** Aside from the issue you mention.... Mechanics and a car dealer tell me the anti-environmental debacle of ethanol gas plays ruin on performance, carburetors, catalytic converters, and various electronic sensors attached to contemporary fuel and exhaust systems. Storage life is much more limited on HYGROSCOPIC ethanol gas. We used to add denatured alcohol to diesel in winter to keep the tractors running smooth, as alcohol absorbs atmospheric condensation, which sinks in fuel. Crystalized water (heavier than fuel) plugs fuel lines, fuel filters, and injector pumps. Unlike your pickup, on a tractor you must then bleed the whole system. High quality fuel stabilizer increases storage life of ethanol gas. Low quality “fuel stabilizer” makes a mess. My chainsaws and small motors run “corn-free” gas. While high quality 2-cycle oil contains good stabilizers, my 2-cycle engines still smile for non-ethanol gas. Corn alcohol gas, a.k.a. ethanol gas, absorbs water from the air. Thus, the longer ethanol gas sits, the more water it takes on. David Bradshaw

We are fortunate that in Central Fla a store called Wawa sells 91 octane ethanol free fuel. Cars get regular gas, everything else that isn't diesel gets ethanol engine killer free.

Talking of a rash of bad gas, at least this whole distribution area. Most gas around here comes from near Cory Pa.. Know a guy that trucks for Pilot/Flying J and covers our area. If tied to the winter/summer switch over, can be more than my area.

My wife puts Indian gas in her vehicle. Not sure where it comes from, seems to be ok.

The ethanol gas plays hell on outboards, have had a lot of folks looking for a "tune up" the past couple years. Usual practice is drain the fuel, clean the carb, clean the plugs and tell the owner to switch to straight gas and the problems go away. No corn in my gas please.
