Some of you may have seen this pistol before In the thread where I picked it up. CCH 44 Special Nm Flat top
Well the stainless trigger was bothering me, and the grips were just a bit thick for my liking. So I decided it Was time for a change. I was able to get a NOS blued trigger and install it, I then installed a Belt Mountain No.5 base pin and swapped the grips for something a little thinner that better fit my hands. With a little stone work and patience I gave it my fist attempt at a trigger job on a new model. Using the excellent information on the Bradshaw trigger job thread, I can say I am quite happy with the results. With one leg of the trigger return spring unhooked I am getting. A consistent 2 3/4 pound pull with very little creep, and no push off. It seems like a new gun all over again now. And one picture with some old WRA head stamped .44 Special brass I recently added to the collection. Thanks, Jonathan.

That looks sharp, I prefer a .45 Colt but I wouldn't walk away from that one.

You describe it as feeling like a new gun all over again. That we all understand.
Beautiful gun and they are great guns to boot. After 40+ years of revolvers, the 44 Special and 45 Colt are still my favorites. Do have to admit the 38-40s are coming on strong.
Nothing like the feeling of making small improvements to make a great gun a tad better every step. Ronnie Wells and I had that conversation yesterday evening.
Congratulations on a great addition...

Well folks I decided that some good gunleather was in order for this Flattop. So, I spoke with Mr. Barranti last Tuesday about what holster would fit the bill. Through our discussion he helped me decide that the Hank Sloan would be a great option for my needs. So I ordered a Hank Sloan with the Barranti Bear track, and a triple deuce ammo pouch from the direct line On Tuesday. Well today it arrived. This is my first Barranti and I can tell it won’t be my last. I have been wearing it since it arrived today and am pleased as punch. The gun carries a little high and not to tight to the body. Very comfortable. Well done Mr. Barranti, I am already looking forward to the next one. Thanks, Jonathan

That’s a slick rig ! The grips really set the CCH off too. I think I’m jealous !

Wow ! A beaut. A thought occurred to me, only hurt a little. As nice as that CCH is, is there a reason we only see cylinder frames CCH'd and not also the grip frame ? If steel. Style only ? Too much of a good thing ?
