During the course of building our house I had the pleasure of meeting a man a little younger than me who was working on the cabinets. His boss knew I was a gun nut and told Jason to tell me about what he had. Jason's father ran a pawn shop in the Central Florida town of Forest City in the 70's. He brought things home. He's gone now and Jason is in the predicament of what to keep and what to sell. His mom sees this stuff as light bill payments. There were two safes in the garage and one in the house which I did not see. The one in the house held the higher grade Model 12's and fine rifles. The two in the garage held the 92's, 94's, 61's, 62's, 62A's, 63's, and one 52B. Throw in a few Stevens double barrels and some other things and oh my goodness it was overwhelming. Here's two NIB Daisies.
All Winchester bolts are pre '64. Here's a 270 and a '54 30-06
Nineteen fifty something 264 Win Mag. Other than a couple of safe dings in the wood it appeared new. Doesn't seem to have had mounts put on it.
1953 Pigeon grade model 42. The 264 is on the table behind it as well as a 300 Weatherby
Safe number one door opened
The one on the right is a short only 62. Next to it is a 52B we're in conversation about. AA couple more 62A's, one with a horrible tang/globe sight combo.
243 Varmint on top of a 300H&H that was rechambered to a 300WM. I'm guessing ammo prices was the reason for that. I've never seen wood like that before.
Unloading the first safe. In the 92' and 94's there were two 30WCF octagon, four or five 30-30's, a 25-20, 32WCF and a 44WCF with a barrel so thin it looked fragile. Most of these were hunters and looked it.
Second safe
There was a high grade model 12 skeet that looked like it came out of the box. It got to be 9 at night so I didn't have time to look at the 5K plus Case knives he said he had. I'll get to those later.
