38 WCF: I HAVE TRIED TO FORM 25-20 OUT OF 32-20 USING 25-20 DIES BUT THE REFORMED BRASS WILL NOT CHAMBER IN MY 25-20 REVOLVERS. PLEASE PROVIDE INFO ON THE SPECIAL FORM DIE YOU USE. This is a common problem. The 218 Bee and 25-20 are slightly smaller across the base than the 32-20. On a tight chambered gun, it's a no go. The very bottom of the brass won't size down enough because it won't push into the die. Formed brass fits my TCs, etc. But, not my Reeder or JRH 25-20s. This warning is posted on the Starline Brass Site. Winchester brass will work. Easy to convert Hornady 218 Bee brass. On the highlighted portion above........... knowing that tolerances vary in all things, the easiest and cheapest solution to try is taking a few thousandths off the top of your shell holder. Headspacing on rimmed cases is the rim thickness, but you need to get the shoulder in the right place to get it to chamber.

Good luck with that. Didn't work for me. The base of the case is simply too large for some reamers.
