My 500L and 475L Redhawks are a Reeder Mammoth and a Mastodon. I can tell you from experience that even with his reshaped grip frame recoil is brutal with the heavy rounds. Currently they are loaded with a 355 at 1300 for the 500 and a 375 at 1100 for the 475. Much kinder to the hand. All out heavies are saved for the BFRs I can only imagineā¦. I have heard that the rubber grips help a lot, but that upper end loads are really not any fun

It's that hump at the top of the grip that does the damage. It'll cause a deep bruise at the thumb.
