Hi folks,
I did a quick search to see if this had been brought up before and didn’t see anything. If this is already out there then disregard.
I read up enough about Herrett’s stocks that I decided to call them this morning with a few questions about placing an order for a set on my 686-6. The nice lady that picked up informed me that they are about set to close the shop permanently, as the building they are in is up for sale and the owner is ready to retire. They are still “taking” orders but not payment info till they know for sure (Believe it is Dee the custom grip maker) wants to take the order and fill it.
Anyways figured I’d throw that out there if anyone was on the fence may want to mail in their order before they do close up for good.
As for me my questions turned into an order in the mail now!

I'm sorry to hear Herrett's is closing. Meanwhile there are less revolvers being made and a lot of other makers and price does factor in. Also as a man of a certain age, I understand the need to finish up.......

It’s been a few years back now, but I wanted a set of Herrett’s for my Model 41 S&W - the ones that duplicate the 1911 grip angle. They were readily commercially available, but every set I looked at appeared to have been cut from the ugliest, plainest, piece of wood they could find. I called and spoke to probably the same very nice lady. She listened, she sympathized, took a card number, and said it would be taken care of. Two weeks later I had a gorgeous pair of walnut grips for my Smith. I hate they are going away.
