Rock Island 10mm LS Surely out of the three I have purchased recently one of them will be a shooter, if I'm lucky all three will be.

Have you been having good luck with the RIA. I have thought about getting one but there reviews tend to be all over the place depending on where you look. I tend to trust most everyone's opinion on here about functionality on guns.

I have one of the RIA 10mm Combat Commander size guns and it is every bit as accurate as the other 10mms I have coasting 2-3 times as much...and has never failed to cycle...

Rock Island 10mm LS Surely out of the three I have purchased recently one of them will be a shooter, if I'm lucky all three will be. ***** Les Baer told me years ago his 5-inch 1911’s are more accurate than the 6-inch. We were talking .45 ACP; he wasn’t making a 10mm Auto then. Some shooters equate a longer barrel to tighter accuracy. I’ve heard the argument----without substantiation. A long slide 10mm adds velocity for hunting, and may increase practical accuracy. My Colt Delta Elite is a rather phenomenal pistol; standard 1911 configuration, same carry & concealment. Reliability you can’t beat with a stick. Wouldn’t trade for a 6-inch. When Les Baer and I talk accuracy, it is well beyond any hypothetical average, and I appreciate the real possibilities. For its flatter trajectory and retained velocity, the 10mm Auto easily out-ranges the .45 ACP. For all that, the auto pistol doesn’t exist to replace the power-to-weight ratio of a magnum revolver. No, the place for a 10mm Auto on my hip requires exceptional accuracy with exceptional reliability in a flat package, somewhat below the 3-pound sixgun. For those who enjoy the long slide, have at it. Hope to hear some shooting reports, David Bradshaw
