Was rearranging the bullets and dies under my reloading benches today. Discovered I had about 450 bullets from Montana Bullet Works in .501 diameter and various weights. Must of been leftover from my last BFR JRH and S&W 500 days in Alaska. Sold all my big bores before we moved out 7 years ago. Guess I could of tried to sell them. But that would of been stupid, right? So I did what any sane person would do, bought another BFR in 500 JRH. Bisley model with the 5.5 inch barrel. There are so awful big squirrels in Tennessee and I want to be able to protect myself and my wife.

I suppose you did what you needed to do to remain sane. Insanity would have been to waste those bullets.
I hear you on the squirrel issue and I would want to put them down before they could cause any harm to others! Good call and thanks for protecting us.

Oooooh NOooooo!
That's insane.....
A truly sane person would have bought a boolit mold on ebay because it was cheap before ever having a thought much about a gun that would shoot the bullets.
Trust me....

Seems perfectly sane and logical to me! Very pragmatic!

Sanity comes at a price........the revolver, Hornady 4 die set, 200 pieces of Buffalo Bore brass. Then most likely at some point a mail off to a quality revolver smith for an action job.

I know what you mean. I found a few hundred 12 gauge shells in my a box in my garage a few weeks ago, but I had no shotgun. So I went out and bought 12 gauge.

It’s really just preventative security. I got my 500 JRH over a year ago and Grizzlies, Cape Buffaloes, T-Rex’s haven’t bothered me since

I once purchased 400 rounds of once fired 480 brass from a well known enabler here. I didn't have a 480 nor did I have any intention of getting one. I just planned to turn the brass at the next gun show, maybe trade it for something I needed. But nooooo. Of course right away I stumbled onto a new 6.5 inch Bisley 480 at Cabelas, greatly reduced because of a cosmetic blemish. The only sane thing to do of course was to bring it home. I mean, I already had the brass. Now, more brass and at least six bullet molds later I'm finding I really like the 480 and wonder why I didn't get one years ago.
