I've been threatening to make a home-made revolver for a couple of years now, and I finally went and done it. This six-shooter is chambered in .450 Adams. Loosely based on Colt's single-action mechanism, this could handle a much more powerful cartridge; it's beefy. To load or unload you put the gun on half-cock, slide the screw just in front of the cylinder towards the muzzle and the barrel and cylinder rotate to the right to allow access to the chambers- Still need to install sights, and get it to the range- hopefully this week. It's finished and works, but my brain is already buzzing with improvements... there are things that could be better or easier. That's OK... it's a hobby, right? Here it is with a 3" K-frame for size comparison.

Your projects amaze me. What kind of equipment and machinery do you have access to?

Your projects amaze me. What kind of equipment and machinery do you have access to? I used a metal lathe, drill press, band-saw and belt grinder, plus hand-tools and a Foredom flex-shaft tool.

I really like that design honestly! That slab barrel like that is really cool looking! Thanks! I was going for a sort of cartoon/steampunk vibe. It's heavy, but ought to moderate the recoil nicely; .450 has a significant kick in a light-weight revolver like my RIC.

Glad to see the "lockdown" in WA hasn't arrested your creativity. What a neat little heater.

Now that you say steampunk I'm seeing that very heavily in the design of this. I seriously like it a lot.
