Am getting very serious about buying a 475/480 Bisley. I mentioned before that I owned a 500 JRH with Jacks grip mod on it.
For you guys who owned the older BFR with the plow handle and have since bought a Bisley...….
How do you like the Bisley model compared to the plow handle?
I'm so sad it took me so long to get the bisley. I run my 500JRH on fulltilt and honestly, it's a joy to shoot now. Before I longed to shoot lighter loads so I could just enjoy the gun, now, I enjoy it mild to wild and can shoot it all day long with the bisley and a pair of gloves (I always wear gloves regardless of caliber since in 99% of my cases, I'm going to be wearing them in the field)
FYI related to this. Rwgripframes.com is ready to start offering black miccarta grip panels for our non standard shapes, but also the standard Bisley and the Keith #5.
They are $50 a pair and come with the screw and escutcheon. Also are shaped to give you a good starting point to finish how you like. And they work best when paired with our frames but could be fit to any frame if you know what you're doing.
We don't have pics for most yet, but check out the pics for the Bisley Junior to get an idea of how they will come in the box. Also there's a picture of finished grips on a gun to show you what it could look like.
email us at rwgripframes@gmail.com with any and all questions.
RDW might gripe at me for offering info when I am a rookie in the single actions world, so run it by him first if I am not making sense. LOL!
