Looking at one of these, either the Callahan or the Cimarron Bad Boy. Both seem to be well finished and liked by their owners.
Has anyone measured the cylinder dimensions of these and compared them to a Ruger 44 Blackhawk? I think Lee had some concerns about their durability with heavy 44 loads.

The Uberti Callahan and Cimarron Bad Boy 44 Magnums are excellent guns.
I don't use SBH Loads in mine, but still as tight as day 1.
Recently added an auxiliary cylinder in 44-40 and now it's even better.
Tell me what dimensions you want and I'll provide them.

Basically just cylinder wall thickness (chamber to outside and chamber to chamber).

Despite some of the dumbest names in recent memory, these are really neat guns. Maybe encore64 will have exact numbers but from what I recall, the cylinder is slightly larger than the Colt SAA but still smaller than the SBH. It's also shorter than the SBH and some heavyweight cast bullet loads are too long for it. Mine has proven to be an excellent sixgun but I treat it more like an N-frame than a Ruger.

Ok, sorry for the delay. Been very busy, but here goes...
Uberti 44 Magnum: 1.683" O.D. 1.678" Max Length .086" Outside Wall .072" Inside Wall
Uberti 44 Special: 1.671" O.D.
But, before you panic, consider this... Ruger SRH 480 Ruger: .091" Outside Wall .040" Inside Wall
Don't discount these fine Uberti offerings...

It's closer to their SAA's than I thought. But we have to bear in mind that Uberti and USFA SAA cylinders are slightly larger than Colt and that Brian Pearce had a USFA rechambered to .44Mag.

Absolutely. The thickness at the lock notches about double what a Colt is. I added a 44-40 Cylinder to both my Callahan and Bad Boy 44 Magnums. The widow opening the same as the 1873s.

I sure like that grip though. Is it roughly an 1860 Army ?

If I buy anymore 44's, it just made my short list.
