That 385 looks interesting. So far my 454 BFR likes fatter cast bullets better. The 350 from Matt's was pretty good. But MBW 335 .453" were much better.

I called the MRI custom shop last week and they do not offer a Bisley hammer for the BFR, but they do still offer a wide spur hammer. My revolver is there having one installed now. Thanks for your report, seminolewind. Good to know!

Well, after not hearing anything from grabagun on the BFR I ordered, I called them. No record of purchase. I told them what happened, as there was one in stock when I ordered but it went out of stock after the order. They said that I must not have gotten to it in time, so the order didn't go through. Needless to say, I now have a 7.5 BFR bisley on the way.

Thanks for your report, seminolewind. Good to know! I can confirm, I got my BFR back from having a Bisley frame fitted with grips and a wide spur hammer. I believe they're charging 75-85 for it.

Great looking gun. Have you decided to scope it? Hope you let us know how it shoots. I scoped mine yesterday but haven't shot it yet.

Haven't decided on if I am going to scope it. I need to order some bullets and brass and do some load testing and see how I do with it with iron sights first. I will most definitely report back on how it shoots. If it was anything like my .500 JRH BFR, I'm sure it will group well!

Well, I have some GT bullets on the way. I ordered the 385 plain base HP. This bullet is listed under the .45-70 bullet section but can be sized to .452. going to primarily run heavy .45 colt loads with this. Due to Wuhan Flu, it may be a couple weeks before they ship so I won't be able to report back on this for a bit. Can't wait to test these bullets!

That's actually my choice of bullets for my 45-70 BFR too.

How do they shoot in the .45-70? 4" at 100 yards if I do my part. Accuracy tested with a 4x Weaver Scope mounted.

Outstanding, thanks. Have you tried them on game? Not the 45-70 bullets. But, use GT Bullets from 25 thru 45 caliber. Although I hesitate to declare anything "the best," I will say they are my favorite. They work great on game in the calibers I've used to hunt with. Ive fired them from 950-1500 fps. I'm expecting two customs from Clements this next week. A 38-40 and 44-40. Already stocked up on GT Bullets for both of these.
