I recently purchased a used Precision Center BFR from a guy. It is a .44mag, bisley grip with 7 1/2" bbl and a Bushnell scope. Its a beautiful piece. My problem is, no matter how many times Ive tried over the years, I just cant do a scoped handgun. Mostly because of portability on horseback, but there are other reasons as well. So Ive removed the scope. I have a quality gunsmith here local who can drill and tap the barrel for a front sight of my choice. I can purchase SBH rear sights anywhere, and they fit BFR. My idea is to either get a standard Ruger rear sight and buy a one-ragged-hole blade for it, or get a Bowen V-blade sight. Im really leaning more toward the Bowen. For the front, I want a gold bead. That setup seems to work best for my eyes. Any advice? Especially choosing a front sight? Am I missing anything in my research? Any feedback and advice would be appreciated.
I have also posted this on another handgun forum I'm a member of. I'm new over here, so I hope this is OK.

YOU CAN BUY ADJ. REAR SIGHTS FOR THE BFR FROM KAHR FIREARMS, THE PARENT CO. OF MRI, BUT THEY ARE OUT OF STOCK RIGHT NOW. THE SPRINGS SET UP IN A RUGER R/S (2 IN A STRAIGHT LINE, FRONT TO BACK) DIFFER FROM THE SPRINGS SET UP FOR A BFR (2 AT THE REAR, SIDE TO SIDE), PLUS BFR's DO NOT HAVE DIMPLES IN THE FRAME THAT THE SPRINGS GO IN TO. IF YOU PUT A BFR R/S ON A RUGER YOU SHUD EXPECT THAT IT WILL SHOOT WAY TOO HIGH AND YOU WILL HAVE TO FILE DOWN THE REAR SIGHT BLADE, SO I AM THINKING THAT A RUGER R/S ON A BFR MAY SHOOT WAY TOO LOW (?).
WHEN YOU DO TRY TO PUT A R/S ON THE BFR, SINCE THERE ARE NO DIMPLES (ROUND HOLES) IN THE FRAME TO SET THE SPRINGS IN, I USE SOMETHING LIKE PETROLEUM JELLY TO HOLD THE SPRINGS IN THE REAR SIGHT BODY DIMPLES AS I MOUNT THE R/S.

I have fiber optic fronts on my BFR's (and most of my other guns when possible). Really help these old eye's.

The LPA adjustable rear sight that comes on factory BFRs are quite good, and they aren’t debilitatingly costly.

The one I purchased did not match up they had the 2 springs side by side. They worked fine you had to be careful getting them in place, I have a Fermin Garza front sight it works great.

Time for an update. I got ahold of Mr Garza, and he made me a beautiful front sight. I highly recommed him, not only for his excellent work, but he really is a pleasure to work with.
Now I just have to get an opening at the gun smith for a drill-and-tap. I ordered a standard rear sight from Magnum Research, but they are still backordered. So I picked up a Ruger sight and installed it last night. It fit perfectly.
Hopefully, Ill have it at the range soon.
