This is a project for/by a fellow who worked with Jack Huntington for quite some time. He recently ducked into the shop with a box of good bits and started in on a special for himself.

Excellent. I spoke to Jack a few days back about a couple future projects.
I have a Single Six (Five) in 38 Super with an auxiliary cylinder in 9mm. Makes an excellent carry gun. Mine actually has a .355" bore groove barrel on it.

A three barreled single action! Awesome! Although I didn't ask, I doubt that. The one that's threaded into the frame will be used as tooling. I'm pretty sure that the diamondback barrel that hasn't been modified was just the one that he didn't choose to use for the project.

Curious if being a five shot in 38 super is it ok with loads like you’d run thru a 1911 or?

If they're going to put that vent ribbed barrel on a SA, sorry, just plain ugly.

If they're going to put that vent ribbed barrel on a SA, sorry, just plain ugly. Lots of welding on that main frame indicates that will be the case, as will color case hardening I suspect. I'm interested to see how it turns out.

If those 5-Shot Cylinders hold a 10mm, there's enough extra steel that a 38 Super isn't going to hurt it.
The 38 Super, in fact, has a rim. Seating bullets out results in much more powder capacity. Heavy bullets work great in the revolvers.

Didn’t even think about them being in 10mm.... not that you’ve reminded me I retract that question 😁

Looks like a nice project...
Happened to ask Jack Huntington about converting a Single-Six .32 H&R Magnum and he said no problem. He also mentioned that a guy who had worked for him was in the process of doing that same project...so I guess this is the guy...
I have a 4 5/8" Single-Six and a stainless Birdshead that has fixed sights...have thought about doing the Birdshead with a set of S&W J-frame sights....
Already have four S&W DA revolvers in .38 Super from a 2" 649 to a 4" 686-7PC...a really great cartridge for small frame guns.
Gun companies are really missing the boat on this one...would be the best J-frame/SP-101/LCR cartridge ever....

It's going to be cool to see how he progresses with this little wheelgun. He's also working on a two-slide multi-caliber 1911. That'll be some good material for a different conversation. Here's where he was with the project today. I don't expect to see more progress for a week or two. Cylinder fitted, and top strap squared up with the bore. Cylinder line boring was getting a start today as well.
