I've brought this up before. Have had tinnitus for many years. Some mid-range damage attributed to shooting and a factory manufacturing job. Been googling and researching. Seems some tinnitus is from loud noise damage, some NOT. Not ear related at all. Maybe. Please research, flex your google-fu. Many here hear , well hard to describe. The spring peepers are going off here with the spring rains and warming temps, my "ringing" similar. Yours ? Lets solve this. Been making my way thru Sonus Complete vids and elsewhere on net seeing them labeled a scam. Are any of you finding relief anywhere ?

I’ve had it for years and the only “relief” of any form or reduction I’ve found was when I got hearing aids. Hearing normal noises seems to diminish the phone always ringing in my ears. Hearing aids was also the best thing I’ve ever done marriage wise too!

E-muffs, Walker's game ears, n the just delivered ear buds type, actually magnify the "ringing". Do block the gun shot noise and prevent further damage, hopefully. Am hoping somebody out there has found something ?

I have it at 30 from gun shots and concerts of a couple years back. From everything I read there isn't anything that "cures" it, unfortunately. I have heard that some people claim it getting better with taking blood pressure medication, for those who suffer high BP.

Tinnitus can also be caused by blood sugar swings. I get it when my blood sugar is low. Some people find it goes away when they go to a keto or other low carb diet and eliminate their huge blood sugar swings.

Had it since the 80s. Being on the flightline and firearms qualification. Plus personal shooting. It's bothersome at times. Nothing so far has helped.

I take blood pressure meds, and can tell when I forgot because my ear ringing is louder and more intense. The ear ringing is worse in the morning, before I take my meds. Mine sounds like crickets.

Hearing aides can be programmed with noise canceling function like a good set of headphones. If you've got ringing you've got damage, and the sooner you get hearing aides the happier you'll be even if it's mostly to give you the sensation of silence. Work with your audiologist when they program your hearing aides. There is no other cure for this. Ringing caused by blood pressure or blood sugars is a different thing than that caused by damaged hearing. General rule on blood pressures and sugars: if you've got them, face them head on. Treatment is easy, cheap, and well tolerated and your body will thank you in the long run. Heart attacks, kidney failure with dialysis, strokes, amputations, infections... easy to avoid if you don't live in denial and run from the problem.

TINNITUS IS COMMON AMONG VETS, WHO ARE 30% OR BETTER MORE LIKELY TO SUFFER FROM SERIOUS HEARING LOSS THAN NON-VETS. MY NON-VET FRIENDS AROUND MY AGE, AND WHOM HAVE LED SIMILAR HUNTING AND SHOOTING LIFESTYLES AS ME, HEAR STUFF I CAN'T EVER REMEMBER HEARING.

I spent the years from 18-38 in a military Maintenance Shop and on the firing line (rifles, machine guns, mortars, artillery, and tanks). Working on or around tanks and trucks exposes you to a lot of ancillary noise - engines, hammering, air tools, etc. After military retirement, I worked in pretty much the same environment as a defense contractor and Army civilian. In short, I have significant hearing loss in both ears, and tinnitus is both ears. It comes and goes in the left ear. Recently, it has been pretty constant in the right ear, and just today I have it constantly in the left. Mine is rather mild most of the time, although it does fluctuate from mild to wild. There's not really much that can be done about it - not that I'm aware of, at any rate. Hearing aids help you hear; they don't negate or eliminate tinnitus.
