David, those RN HP's blew pretty good, got a real good rooster tail out of that first water jug & quite a bit out of the second but I was squatted down in kind of an uncomfortable position when I shot & I rushed it a bit. Next time I'll take a bit more time. Bad thing is I just threw away 17 empty milk jugs because my wife was tired of having them in the garage so now I'm out of targets for a while. Dick ***** Dick.... tell her its rocket science and the child in you must study. Water jugs provide an easy, economical way to see immediate bullet behavior, and its repeatable. Bullet must still be carrying speed to blow the second jug. That first jug represents immediate deceleration. I want to set up a chronograph BEHIND FIRST WATER JUG. Obviously, an expanding bullet slows down more slowly than a bullet which doesn’t deform. Yet, expansion itself communicates shock. Tests this past week include some hollow points which did not expand: No expansion in water jugs, bullets recovered* .45 ACP Federal Hydra-Shot 230 JHP. * .45 ACP Speer Gold Dot 200 JHP over 6.9/Vihtavuori N330. * .44 Special Federal Lead Round Nose 200 HP. * .44 Special Winchester Silvertip 220 JHP. We caught 5 to 7-inches snow last night, so my bullet recovery of the getaways is set back. David Bradshaw
