Fixing fence this morning near a dry creek, two wet sows thought little of my presence and tried to sneak by unnoticed. Didn't work. I guess with me about 15 feet above them they thought I wouldn't notice their trespass. One shot each to the top of the skull exited through the breast. Firearm is a customized Ruger Blackhawk 5 inch in 357 Magnum. Load is Starline brass, Winchester small pistol primer, 6.5 grains Unique and a Lee 158 grain flat point (163 grains average in my alloy). Load acts more like a 38+P loaded in 357 brass and is my #1 go to plinking, small game / pest and everyday carry load. I have never chronographed the load.
I did have my son take a quick picture before butchering the two trespassers for meat to be dealt out to needing folks out of work. Fence did not get fixed. If anyone can post a picture from a text and would help me with it I would be most appreciative. Please PM me a phone number to send it to if willing.

It is my pleasure to help my fellow humans. I really do try to slaughter all I can, just some times I cannot. Thank you, my friend for helping me post pictures. As clever as I think I am, I am daft when it comes to image hosting.

Put another in the locker today. Traps are set again tonight. All are going to feed the folks out of work.

Side note; what are those boots you’re wearing?

Side note; what are those boots you’re wearing? LOOK LIKE CHIPPEWA SNAKE BOOTS, VERY POPULAR IN SOUTH TEXAS. I LIKE THE KIND THAT HAVE A ZIPPER IN THE BACK, EASIER TO GET ON AND OFF AND TUCK YOUR PANTS IN. SNAKE BOOTS CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE IN RATTLER COUNTRY, PLUS I LIKE BOOTS I CAN TUCK MY PANTS INTO, HELPS WITH STICKER BURRS, WET GRASS, CHIGGERS, GRAVEL. etc. ONLY TROUBLE FOR ME WITH 'EM IS THAT THEY ARE TOO HIGH ON ME SO THAT I HAVE TO TAKE THEM OFF TO TAKE A SHIT.

Not much I can add to 45man's post. He is correct in all regards. They are Chippewa's. I can leave them on to take a dump, but I cant leave my wallet or phone in my pants and accomplish same. Our rattlers have learned not to rattle because the hogs will seek them out and kill them. Add in greenbriar (a thorny vine), huisache, catclaw, barbed wire and the like and we are harder on pants legs than anyone else I know.
The men I gave those other hogs to (they didn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish) told my friend and their boss how much they appreciated the meat. They brought my ice chest back the next day washed, bleached and turned upside down open to dry and left me another brand new ice chest to send more meat to them in. THAT is showing appreciation. They will continue to get all the hogs I can get till they cant hold no more. I understand everyone is cancelling contract jobs right now due to the virus and that is how they get paid.

I went to the feed store yesterday on my way out to the ranch for the weekend. A gentleman walked up behind me and said "Excuse me, are you the man with the hogs?" I don't know him from Adam but answered if he meant wild hogs, then yes I am. He said he has been out of work for two weeks and his wife is a stay at home mother. He has two small children and the grocery stores are minimal. I am meeting him later this morning with two 90 pound live weight shoats freshly slaughtered and iced from last night. I called him late (around 2300) to tell him to expect me. I cannot be sure, but I think I heard his wife tearing up in the background. Then again, with my tinnitus, I couldn't hear a dump truck crashing through a nitro glycerine plant so I am not 100 percent positive but that is what I think I was hearing when she was telling me "thank you".
I used an AR in 300 Blackout with an ATN ThOR optic, suppressor and binary trigger. Those were the only two hogs I saw last night till I was just too tired to hunt anymore. Traps are still set so there is some hope for more.
