Nice find...In my viewpoint, any fellow who concludes that any gun "isn't for him" after a mere 5 rounds of factory ammo, would be much better off finding another hobby. Worked out real good for you though.

I would like to have the 4 5/8” version but they are pretty scarce.

I would like to have the 4 5/8” version but they are pretty scarce. I watched a 4 5/8" for sale locally for months and just couldn't bring myself to pay the price. It had a set of Elk stag grips and the price was $1,000. I think he later dropped the price to $900 and finally sold it.

I have a 4 5/8-inch .480 and a 6 1/2-incher. Great revolvers IMHO.

I own a 6 1/2” and I’d sure like to get one of the shorties but I’ve never even seen one in real life.

foxtrapper, highjack nahhhh, you put me onto the 5.5” octagon barrel and ended up with two. 480R & 454C. Beautiful! Who did the barrels? I'm wanting to do some octagon rebarrels but the only blanks I can find are 4140 steel. I was thinking of fitting them and sending the barrels out for hard matte chrome to more closely resemble the stainless or do the grip frame and barrel In ceracote in a duotone.

Great grab, I love the 385 Noe with HS-6 in mine, excellent round for big game in the lower 48.

The 4 5/8" version, loaded, held in the hand, brings a feeling of peace, calm.

Love the 4 5/8" version. Almost bought one when they came out but I have a 5" FA83 in 500 JRH. My current load for the 500 JRH is a 325gr Swift A Frame at a chronoed 1,330 fps at the muzzle and 50 deg F -- a big fat moderate .480? About all I care to deal with recoil wise any more. Top gun Paul

Possibly a unpopular opinion, but I really love the 6.5" version. I love short barrels but for some reason I feel it's better suited, for me at least, with the 6.5".

I prefer the 6.5". But then don't like short barreled guns.
